b. storm originally hails from wisconsin
and found his niche in sunny southern
california as a sign language interpreter.
he has thus far produced several video
interpretations of blah blah blah...

(don't you hate when people write bios in
the third person, even though you know
darn well they're typing it themselves? hehe
sit yourself down and allow me to speak
frankly.... )

i'm 27 years old; a graduate of the
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's
Interpreter Training Program. by day,
i work in the san diego area
interpreting college courses and various
community appointments. by night...
i usually have some random art project
laying around that's in a seemingly
perpetual state of 'in progress',
which is usually good motivation to get
me outta bed in the morning.

the most popular question i get, by a
long shot, is people asking me if i am a
CODA (child of a deaf adult) and i'm
always a little surprised when some
people are disappointed to find out that
i'm not. ASL is not my native language.
though mom doesn't understand a lick of
sign language, she's by far my biggest
fan and has always supported all my
crazy ideas... even the bad ones. i fell
in love with deaf friends and the
language itself while working as a
glorified secretary once upon a time.
my deaf friends and the d/hh community
at large have taught me everything i
know, and to them i am eternally
grateful. i have been most privileged
to study with some tremendous icons and
role models.

i feel strongly, and will passionately
advocate for total accessibility for ALL,
along with the details that follow. but
when it comes down to it, i'm just having
a lot of [fun] making these things. i've
managed to find something in which i can
combine my work and my art. thats
symbiosis at its finest folks!

p.s... i'm too lazy to bother with
capital letters, i don't like wearing
socks and shoes, i drink too much coffee,
sometimes i forget to excuse myself when
i burp, i refuse to fold my hand towels,
i think pajamas are the greatest thing
since sliced bread and my 2nd toes are
longer than my big toes (what does that
mean anyway??).
